i-confidential Supports the Women Do Cyber Programme

i-confidential is proud to support the Women Do Cyber Programme.

GCU, Cisco, and Scotland Women in Technology (SWiT) have come together to launch a Cyber Security Scholarship to encourage and inspire women to pursue careers in digital and cyber security. The initiative aims to accelerate access for women into digital and cyber careers by offering short course scholarships.

This is a fantastic opportunity to reskill or upskill women into entry-level cyber security opportunities.

The digital skills gap in the UK costs the economy a potential £63 billion per year, with the missing contribution of women to software engineering and cyber security being a significant component. Gender and neurodiversity are critical factors for successful cyber security, and this scholarship aims to address the challenges of achieving diversity in the field.

The partnership is funded by the Scottish Funding Council and seeks to mobilise more routes for women to enter the technically advanced, skilled, digital workforce, and increase diversity in the sector.

The scholarship hopes to reach women from a range of backgrounds and circumstances who seek to start a new career, or change direction, increase their earning power, and make a difference in the Scottish tech sector.

Applications for the Cyber Security Scholarship are currently being accepted, with a start date of May 8, 2023. The scholarship is an opportunity for women to develop their skills and pursue their passion for digital and cyber security, with the support of industry leaders and experts.
